Billy Carrión Jr.

Born in Brooklyn, and raised between Puerto Rico and New York, Bassist/multi-instrumentalist Billy Carrión Jr started his musical journey at the age of 16, influenced by various genres of music from jazz, classical to Latin, and even video game scores. He has performed, directed, and collaborated with esteemed musicians and producers including Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, Tim Gilles, Tom Vella and The Wayside, Last Perfect Thing, Henry Cole, Giovanni Hidalgo, Suit Of Lights, Alfredo Rodriguez, Ray Santos, and many more. Billy has performed at top musical festivals and venues in The United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Europe, including The Jazz Foundation, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Caramoor Jazz Festival, Chick Corea Jazz Festival, River to River Festival, Toro y Salsa, Queens Town Hall, Exit Zero Jazz Festival, Light of Day Festival, Montreal Percussion Fest Seaside Music Festival and Heineken Jazz Festival. As a curator, Billy produced a series at the famous Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ entitled Jazz@Maxwells. He is currently working on his new record as a bassist with pianist Roberta Piket and drummer Jonathon Peretz.
